Community Rules

Version 2.0 — in force from 11 September 2026. These rules are part of the terms of use; breaking them is a breach of that agreement.

The short version

Be useful and be civil. Do not bring anything here that is illegal, age-restricted or dangerous. Almost everything below follows from those three.

Part A — How to post well

1. Write to be answered

Give enough detail that someone can actually help: what you are trying to do, what you tried, what happened. Pick the post type that matches what you want, put it in the right category, and tag the specific topics involved.

2. Search before you post

If the question already has a good answer, add to that thread instead of starting a new one. Repeated versions of the same question split the answers and help nobody.

3. Answer the question that was asked

If you think the approach is wrong, say so and explain why, but still answer. Say when you are unsure. A clearly-labelled guess is useful; a confident wrong answer is not.

4. Disagree with the argument, not the person

Insults, mockery, threats and attacks based on nationality, ethnicity, religion, language, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability or anything similar are removed and can end an account. Members here are at very different levels of experience — assume the question is asked in good faith.

5. Credit your sources

Quoting someone else work is fine when it is marked as a quote and the source is linked. Pasting someone else text as if it were yours is not. The same applies to images, code, documentation and translations. If you post material generated by a tool, check it and say so.

6. No advertising

Do not use posts to promote a product, service, channel or employer. Affiliate links, referral codes, SEO backlinks and paid placement are removed on sight. Linking to your own work is fine when it genuinely answers the question and you say that it is yours.

7. Respect privacy

Do not publish anyone else personal information — full names, addresses, telephone numbers, identity documents, private messages, live location — without their consent. Blur every name, address, token, key, password and account number in screenshots before you attach them.

8. Mark solved answers

When your question is answered, mark the post as solved. It costs you one click and saves the next person the whole thread.

9. Report, do not retaliate

If a post breaks these rules, report it with the reason and let moderators handle it. Arguing in the thread makes it worse for everyone reading. False or automated reporting is itself a breach.

10. One account per person

Do not create additional accounts to get around a restriction, to rate your own posts, or to agree with yourself.

Part B — Prohibited outright

Digibitig is open to readers of any age, in many countries, and we operate no age verification. That is why the subjects below are banned completely rather than limited to adults. The ban covers offering, seeking, recommending, reviewing, comparing, advertising, teaching, sourcing, glamorising and linking — in posts, comments, tags, images, files, usernames and profile text alike. Section 9 of the terms of use sets out the full legal wording.

11. Alcohol, tobacco and nicotine

No alcoholic drinks — no brand or product recommendations, tastings, reviews, prices, suppliers, home distilling or brewing instructions, drinking games, or content that makes drinking or intoxication look attractive. No tobacco or nicotine in any form: cigarettes, cigars, pipe tobacco, hookah and shisha, snus, heated tobacco, vapes, pods, e-liquids, nicotine pouches, or their accessories.

12. Weapons, ammunition and explosives

No firearms, parts, magazines or ammunition; no explosives, detonators, incendiaries or their precursors; no conversion devices or suppressors; no blades or impact weapons presented as instruments of attack; no air, gas or blank-firing weapons; no chemical, biological, radiological or nuclear material. No blueprints, 3D-printable files, manufacturing, modification, reactivation or usage instructions. No offers, requests, prices, supplier contacts or brokering — including in the form of a question.

13. Drugs and medicines

No narcotics, psychotropics, synthetic or designer substances, cannabis or derivatives, precursors or reagents. No production, extraction, cultivation, dosing, potentiation, concealment or detection-evasion instructions. No prescription-only medicines offered, sought or supplied without a prescription, and no dosage directions given as if by a prescriber. No doping agents, unapproved "research chemicals", poisons or paraphernalia, and no links to vendors or marketplaces.

14. Gambling and money schemes

No betting, casino, poker, slots, lottery, raffle or loot-box promotion, and no bonus codes or referral links to them. No pyramid, Ponzi, matrix, gifting or multi-level marketing recruitment. No pump-and-dump coordination, paid signal groups, coin or token promotion, or promises of guaranteed returns. No asking other Members for donations, loans, transfers, gift cards or crypto.

15. Adult content

No pornography, sexually explicit text or imagery, sexual nudity, fetish content, or links to adult sites. No prostitution, escort or companionship solicitation, and no adult-industry recruitment. Anything sexualising a minor results in immediate permanent closure of the account, preservation of the material as evidence, and referral to the authorities. There is no appeal.

16. Hatred, threats, extremism and harassment

No content that attacks or dehumanises a person or group by reference to who they are. No threats, no incitement to violence, no celebration of violent acts. No terrorist or extremist propaganda, recruitment, financing, instruction, symbols or glorification. No bullying, stalking, sexual harassment, coordinated pile-ons, or continuing to contact someone who asked you to stop. No doxxing.

17. Self-harm

No encouragement, instruction, method sharing or glorification concerning suicide, self-injury or disordered eating. If you are struggling, please reach out to a qualified service in your country — this is not the right place for that conversation, and we would rather you got real help.

18. Crime, fraud and illicit trade

No fraud, phishing, scam scripts, money laundering, sanctions evasion or smuggling. No counterfeit goods, stolen property, or stolen and leaked credentials, card data, accounts or databases. No forged documents, diplomas, certificates or licences. Nothing touching human trafficking, forced labour, or the sale of organs. No protected wildlife or endangered species. No offering to commit an offence for someone else.

19. Attacks on systems

No malware, ransomware, spyware, botnets or exploit kits; no instructions or services for breaking into accounts, devices or networks; no denial-of-service tooling or coordination; no credential stuffing or carding; no cracked software, licence keys or circumvention tools. Security discussion is welcome — attack capability distributed for use is not. Do not publish a third party vulnerability before they have had a fair chance to fix it.

20. Deception and impersonation

Do not impersonate a person, company, authority, moderator or member of the Digibitig team, and do not claim qualifications or affiliations you do not hold. No deepfakes or manipulated media presented as genuine, no fabricated quotes or screenshots, no unproven health claims presented as fact.

21. Scraping and automation

Do not crawl, scrape or bulk-collect the site beyond what robots.txt allows, do not republish the content as a dataset, and do not use it to train a model without our written permission. No bots or scripts for posting, voting, reporting or registering.

22. Educational mentions

A neutral factual, historical, legal, medical or harm-reduction mention of a prohibited subject may be allowed if it carries no brands, no sources or prices, no instructions and no encouragement. Moderators decide whether a post falls inside that exception, and their assessment is the one that applies. If you are unsure, ask before you post — or leave it out.

Part C — Enforcement

23. What happens when a rule is broken

Depending on the seriousness, the intent and your history: the content is removed or hidden; a warning is issued; posting, commenting or rating is restricted for a period; a badge is withdrawn; the account is suspended; or the account is closed permanently.

Serious cases — unlawful content, threats, sexual content involving minors, weapons or drug trade, attacks on the Platform, coordinated manipulation — are acted on immediately, permanently and without warning, and are reported to the competent authorities where the law requires or the circumstances warrant it.

Content is published first and reviewed afterwards. The fact that a post is still online does not mean it has been approved.

24. Appeals

If you believe a decision was wrong, write to us once through the contact page within 14 days and explain why. We read every appeal. We are not obliged to restore content or reinstate an account, and we will not always explain our reasoning in detail — that would simply teach people how to work around the checks. The outcome of the appeal is final.

25. Evading a restriction

Coming back with a new account while restricted is a separate and more serious breach, and it ends the discussion about the original one.

26. No compensation

Removed content, lost visibility, a withdrawn badge or a closed account do not give rise to any refund, credit or compensation. Keep your own copy of anything you would not want to lose.
